Option 1

Warsaw by Night - guided tour

The Old Town - the New Town - Krasiński Square and Długa Street
Wednesday, July 1st, 19.00 - 21.00

If you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the big city, take a stroll through the streets of the New Town. The small streets full of a character, green squares and parks, friendly bars and cozy cafes, create an atmospheric setting for relaxation after a day of work or visits. On fine days, the Old Town (the Starówka), from the Barbican (Barbakan) to Zamkowy Square, is buzzing with life and colours: parasols outside cafes, street musicians, children at play, crowds of young people and tourists from all around the world. As you admire the striking facades and impressive old churches, it is hard to believe that at the end of the World War II, this was a wasteland of bricks and dust. The incredible achievement of the reconstruction of the Old Town was recognized by the granting by UNESCO of World Cultural and Natural Heritage status to this area.
Don’t delay! Warsaw is waiting for you.

Warsaw Rising Museum - guided tour

Wednesday, July 1st, 19.00 - 21.00

The Warsaw Rising Museum was opened during the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Rising. It is a tribute paid by the residents of Warsaw to those who fought and died for independent Poland. The exhibition was opened to the public on October 2, 2004. Within an area of approximately 1800 m2 the Warsaw Rising Museum houses an exhibition displaying a wealth of information, photographs, texts and films. This exhibition depicts history of the Warsaw Rising as comprehensively as possible. It attempts to explain complexity of events related to the Rising – occupation, international situation, establishing an illegal centre of communist authority in Lublin and the fate of insurgents in the People’s Republic of Poland (PRL). Various audiovisual and multimedia communication techniques have been applied in the Museum. Insurgents’ armbands occupy a special place within the exhibition. All of them have been displayed in a case and are accompanied by the first and last names of their owner. A monument with the heart of fighting Warsaw has been placed in the middle of the exhibition. Our youngest visitors are encouraged to visit the Little Insurgent’s Room, where under the supervision of well trained caretakers they can build a barricade or send a letter using the Field Postal Service.
